Gerrard Street Baptist Church
Gerrard Street Baptist Church is a vibrant part of the community, and wished to offer modern facilities to its members. The original Church building and wash-house are both B Listed buildings so care was taken to respect the buildings while updating them to modern standards. The existing wash-house building was converted into reception, office and meeting rooms, with an extension to the rear providing kitchen, accessible toilets and changing facilities. The gap between the two buildings was covered over to create a new multi-use gathering area which, as well as linking all the buildings together, is used for coffee mornings, meetings, presentations and even youth club sleepovers! Craig was the project architect while in previous employment, and the success of the project was Craigs understanding of how people would use the building now and in the future.
